About Winding River

There are a lot of different types of therapy out there. The reality is that in addition to our training, each therapist brings their own personal self and beliefs with them to sessions. My goal is to understand you as a person, with all of the highs and lows, and then support you in redeveloping the narrative of your self and to help you have an experience which you’ve previously been denied.

My practice is based on CBT and DBT principles. I also love to incorporate creative activities and themes related to art, nature, and adventure.

About Will

I started Winding River to help adolescents and adults who are ready to break free from feeling "stuck".

I received my Masters of Social Work from Appalachian State University and since then have worked as a family therapist, residential treatment practitioner, wilderness therapist and school social worker. From wearing all these different hats, I’ve gained a wealth of knowledge the help guide my private practice sessions.

In my free time you can find me outside - whether it be hiking, biking, climbing or kayaking, I find my mind is most at ease when I’m out, active and exploring.
